Hidden Brook

Please join us for Hidden Brook, a contemplative service of candlelight, silence, prayer, chant, music, and poetry. This week we remember Lancelot Andrewes and T. S. Eliot. Andrewes was the favorite preacher of King James the First and oversaw the translation of the King James Version of the Bible. September 26 is the 125th birthday of Eliot, who was a major poet of the 20th century and won the Nobel Prize in literature. Eliot admired the sermons of Andrewes and used lines from them in his poetry. Stay for birthday cupcakes and conversation. All are welcome.
